This is how India cleans its trains. All trash thrown out the open door at full speed. Ranked 176th out of 177 in the world for environment for a reason

A 30-second video that sums up India’s environmental disaster. The footage, shot aboard an Indian Railways train – coach 231387/C NE – shows a cleaning staff member at work. He collects plastic bottles, bags, food leftovers and paper scattered in the corridor. Then he heads to the coach door, left wide open while the train runs at full speed through the countryside, and throws everything out. He sweeps. He tosses. The garbage flies directly onto the tracks, into the fields, into the environment. It is not an isolated case. It is standard practice. Indian Railways carries over 20 million passengers per day and tons of waste end up directly in the ecosystem every single day. The official numbers confirm the failure. According to the Environmental Performance Index (EPI) 2026, published by Yale and Columbia University, India ranks 176th out of 177 countries assessed, with a score of just 22.46 out of 100, just above Laos last with 21.78 and far from Estonia first with 74.79. India is also last among the eight South Asian countries. In detail, India is 174th for Environmental Health, 171st for Ecosystem Vitality and 130th for Climate Change Mitigation. According to Yale researchers, the poor performance reflects critical issues with air quality, coal dependence and lack of biodiversity protection. A country that produces over 60 million tons of solid waste per year and that in a 30-second video shows the world why it is the second dirtiest country on Earth.
