Look at the video. Look closely at where they are. They are climbed on top of the symbolic monument of Piccadilly Circus. The one every tourist photographs when they go to London. And around them? Only Palestinian flags. Thousands. If you remove the monument, if you remove the English architecture behind it, you can’t tell where you are anymore. It could be anywhere. It’s no longer London. October 7, 2023 is the date that changed everything. That day Hamas attacked Israel, kidnapped civilians, murdered families in their homes, and celebrated in the street. Those images are impossible to forget. And from that day on, seeing this flag waving here tells you something different. It is no longer just a protest. It is the symbol of that massacre. And seeing this scene in London, in the heart of the United Kingdom, with the angel occupied by protesters, tells you one thing: London is no longer a British city. It’s no longer the city of those who were born and grew up there. It has become the capital of demonstrations for someone else. And they know it. That’s why they occupy the symbols. That’s why they put their flags on top.
