Milan, city centre, in broad daylight. What you see in this video is not a protest, not a demonstration. It’s pure destruction. E-scooters thrown onto the tram tracks, a moped ripped apart and left on the pavement, trash everywhere, people running, shops closing. This is the new normal in Milan.
They are called Maranza. Everyone in Milan knows who they are. Groups of young men, often of North African origin, second generation, who grew up in Italy but have never integrated. Not culturally, not socially, not in terms of respect for the law. And the video proves it. They don’t work, they don’t study, they hang around in the centre to cause chaos, to vandalize, to intimidate. This is not about poverty. This is about a complete refusal to integrate into Italian society and its rules. Italian families can no longer walk safely in their own city centre. Shop owners have to pull down the shutters. Public property is destroyed for fun, and everyone films it like it’s a game. How will this problem be solved? Certainly not by pretending it’s just a “perception of insecurity” or by talking about inclusion programs that have already failed. It will be solved with zero tolerance. More police on the street with real powers to intervene, immediate arrest for vandalism and destruction, real consequences for those who commit these crimes, and expulsion for those who are not Italian citizens. No more excuses. Because if you live in Italy, you have to respect Italy. If you don’t want to integrate, you cannot stay and destroy our cities. This is multicultural Milan.
